Purchase Only What You Need
Registered qualifying patients and their designated caregivers should not seek, obtain, or possess an amount of cannabis from a registered medical cannabis dispensary that would cause him or her to exceed 2.5 ounces of medical cannabis during any 14-calendar-day period, unless that patient has been specifically approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health to exceed that limit.
- Cardholders or their registered caregivers who sell their medical cannabis will have his or her registry identification card revoked, and are subject to other penalties for the unauthorized sale of cannabis.
- Any person who makes a misrepresentation of a medical condition to a physician or fraudulently provides material misinformation to a physician in order to obtain a written certification is guilty of a petty offense punishable by a fine of up to $1,000.
